I don’t know how much it cost ABC or the producers of “The Bachelorette” to make the show, but the good news for them is that now that “After The Final Rose” has aired, they get to keep all of their money, even if “The Bachelorette” winner Ed Swiderski is cheating on Jillian.
Rumors are going around that even after Ed Swiderski got engaged to Jillian Harris on “The Bachelorette” he continued to have contact with two women — contact that was more than friendly — or so the women say.
Will another one bite the dust?
The relationships forged on “The Bachelorette” do not have a good track record of working out. I certainly wouldn’t bet my cash until payday on it. In this case, the first time was the charm, and only the couple who met in Season One of “The Bachelorette” are together to this day. Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter met on “The Bachelorette” 2003, got married and now have two kids.
Fast forward to the current Ed Swiderski cheating scandal, and you have a better idea of how the rest of the couples fared. None of them are together now. Despite the dismal marriage rate on this show, ABC keeps shelling out the money to make it, people keep watching in record numbers, and advertisers keep gobbling up air time during the show.

This was supposed to be the happiest of times for newly engaged Bachelorette couple Jillian Harris and her fiancé Ed Swiderski but it seems a cheating scandal maybe be tainting it. Two different women, Lindsey Johnson and Bethany Steffen, claim that Ed Swiderski was cheating with both of them during filming of The Bachelorette and after his engagement to Harris.
Various reports are surfacing regarding the situation with Swiderski and his multiple women. A source told RadarOnline.com that Swiderski “broke off his relationship with Bethany just a week before he began shooting The Bachelorette, but soon resumed contact with her via texts and emails.”
“When the episode aired showing Ed as the winner and he and Jillian agreeing to marry, Bethany was stunned,” one of the sources said. “Ed’s sexy messages to Bethany certainly aren’t of the kind a happily engaged man should be sending.”
A vague idea
Regarding this other woman, Lindsey Johnson, there are some pretty shocking tidbits presented on Reality Tea. Getting the whole gist of the story requires reading some not-very-family-friendly stuff, but if you want to read about the text messages Ed sent these women, click away.
However, People.com is reporting that while this “Bachelorette” cheating scandal has caused some anxiety for Jillian, she says it is just a bump in the road. People.com says:
“What did he do wrong?” Jillian asks. “My biggest concern is with everything that happened after the day we got engaged, and after we got engaged he has been so open with me. He’s told me all of this, every little text message and every little phone call. I use his computer. I know that any communication he had with the girls post-show was platonic. I’m not worried about it.”
Ed Swiderski cheating in eye of the beholder?
So, if Jillian is fine with everything that happened, does that mean this “Ed Swiderski cheating on Jillian” business wasn’t really cheating at all? If she’s OK with it, does that mean it’s not wrong?
The Reality Tea story says that during a brief break in the middle of the show, Ed was intimate with both women during the show. Jillian says that she is only concerned with what happened after the show. That makes sense. During “The Bachelorette,” Jillian was certainly seeing her fair share of other men, right along with the rest of the country.
So maybe the only “Bachelorette” cheating that went on was Ed Swiderski cheating on the two girlfriends he already had with each other.
